University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming Web Summit 2025, one of the world's leading technology conferences, by highlighting its role in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and university-based startup success.

Through its dedicated UHUB business incubator, UDST will host a series of workshops, discussions, and networking events designed to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders. This platform will promote collaboration and knowledge exchange, offering startup founders the opportunity to pitch their ideas, engage in meaningful meetings with decision-makers, and gain valuable insights from experienced investors on securing sustainable funding.

Among the standout workshops, UDST will host discussions on university-based innovation and commercialization, exploring strategies to transition academic research into viable businesses. Another key session will focus on commercializing capstones and research, providing practical insights for founders looking to scale their university projects. Also, “Meet the Startups Showcase” will offer UHUB entrepreneurs a platform to pitch their ideas to potential investors and industry professionals, encouraging valuable networking and funding discussions. Additionally, the “Speed Networking with Mentors and Investors” session will facilitate fast-paced, structured interactions, connecting founders with key stakeholders. A “Roundtable on Funding University Founders” will also bring together experienced investors to share insights on securing investment for university-driven startups.

Commenting on UDST’s participation, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of University of Doha for Science and Technology, stated: "Technology and innovation are at the core of Qatar’s transformation into a knowledge-based economy, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. Our participation at Web Summit 2025 highlights UDST’s commitment to shaping the future of technology-driven entrepreneurship by driving innovation, supporting startups, and strengthening the bridge between academia and industry. Through UHUB, we continue to drive research commercialization and empower students and entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to the global technology landscape. This summit will further highlight Qatar’s growing influence as a regional and international hub for technological advancement and innovation."

Furthermore, Web Summit 2025 will serve as a platform for UDST to formalize multiple agreements and new partnerships with local and global institutions to enhance its academic impact in technology and innovation.
