The college provides additional academic assistance to students through the Accounting Help Center and the Business Help Center. In addition, our faculty have office hours in their schedule where students can meet one-on-one to discuss matters related to their coursework.
The College of Business is a leading business school in the region, offering Diploma, Bachelor and Master’s degree programs across several areas: accounting and finance, banking and financial technology, healthcare management, human resource management, logistics & supply chain management and digital marketing.
Each business program is aligned with relevant professional associations and is developed in close collaboration with senior business managers. Programs are designed to ensure that the knowledge, skills, and competencies are developed in alignment with industry and State needs as well as trending global business developments.
CB faculty draw on a range of direct industry and research experience in the development and delivery of their classes. Courses are taught in an applied experiential manner that fully engages students in their learning. All Undergraduate programs also include a required Work Placement, providing students with hands-on, in-field, work experience. To enhance the applied nature of our programs, the College operates an in-house trading room and financial lab workspace in cooperation with LSEG Refinitiv, with a live feed from the Qatar Stock Exchange. This on-site Financial Centre is designed to promote an understanding of how the local economy is interconnected with the global economy and provides an opportunity for students to interact with emerging financial technologies.
Facts and Figures
Business or commerce is sometimes referred to as “The lifeblood of society”. It creates employment and generates wealth. Business facilitates the development of social structures such as schools, universities, medical facilities, and it provides the funds for vital infrastructure and public services.
In the College of Business, we focus on the provision of Bachelors and Master’s degrees in 7 business disciplines. These include: Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Supply Chain, and Healthcare Management.
All of our programs are applied, meaning that students practice and can use their knowledge and skills. Courses across the first two years of undergraduate study are largely common providing an excellent level of competence in all business related subjects, and students then specialize in one of the 7 areas above for their remaining two years. All of our programs include an emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation which explains why many students aspire to start their own enterprise.
