Symposium Overview 

 

  • The 3rd Diabetes Care Symposium (2024) is remarkable as it will facilitate the active engagement and discussion on the latest trends, developments, advancements and strategies in diabetes care and education  

  • The Symposium will be held during the month of the World Diabetes Day (WDD), the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign planned annually by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 170 countries (IDF, 2024). 

  • The WDD theme 2024 – 2026 is Diabetes and Well-being; the symposium will equip healthcare professionals with up-to-date knowledge to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and patient-centered diabetes care and education as well as strategies to promote positive health behaviors and mental health in people living with diabetes. 

  • The symposium goals are in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and its Human Development Pillar and will be developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, National Diabetes Strategy Committee Co-Chair, Prof. Abdulbadie Abou-Samra, Director of Qatar Metabolic Institute - Hamad Medical Corporation, State of Qatar and Chair of Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation, State of Qatar. 

  • Key partners in the Symposium include Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC), Sidra Medicine, Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) and the View Hospital.

  • This professional development activity will be of interest to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and students nationally and internationally.  

  • Key reputable national and international speakers and exhibitors will participate in the Symposium sessions and exhibition
