Celebrating Student Well-Being: UDST's De-Stress Fest Triumph
The Student Engagement Department, in collaboration with Sport & Wellness, Student Central Services, and Student Counselling & Accessibility Services, orchestrated a week-long De-Stress Fest with the primary objective of assisting students in effectively coping with the stress associated with their midterm examinations. This eventful week featured a diverse array of stress-relief workshops, mindfulness activities, and relaxation techniques, all thoughtfully curated to empower students to manage the rigorous demands of university life. De-Stress Fest provided a unique and invaluable opportunity for students to rejuvenate and refocus their energies.
The success of this event can be largely attributed to the remarkable contributions of various student clubs. Notably, the Forever Friends Club organized a "stress ball making" activity, which garnered significant enthusiasm and participation, while the Board Games Club organized an engaging game of bingo. Furthermore, the Debate Club, along with the Mental Health Ambassadors, made a significant contribution by organizing a crucial debate on the topic of "Should Mental Health Be Linked to Academic Achievement?" This important discourse facilitated thoughtful discussions on an issue of paramount significance in the academic community.
Student Central Services provided invaluable academic tips and support to students facing the challenges of their upcoming exams. Student Counseling and Accessibility Services extended their expertise in providing emotional and psychological support during this stressful period. Furthermore, the Sports and Wellness Department curated an array of fitness classes designed to promote mind-body relief, including activities such as cat yoga, stretching, boxing, and more.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated student volunteers who played an instrumental role in ensuring the seamless operation of De-Stress Fest. These volunteers, with their enthusiasm and commitment, staffed different booths and provided essential support during the event. Their dedication and hard work were truly invaluable in making this event a success.
De-Stress Fest served as a commendable initiative to promote student well-being and stress management, and we express our gratitude to all who participated, contributed, volunteered, and collaborated. Your involvement in this event was greatly appreciated, and we look forward to bringing more opportunities for personal growth and relaxation to our university community.
